Home / About

Small-town care, exceptional quality.

We built the program we wished existed here — clinically serious, unhurried, and unmistakably local.

Our story

Started by clinicians from this county, for people from this county.

For years our founders watched neighbors drive an hour each way for treatment, or fly across the country for care that ended the moment the plane landed home. Meanwhile the people struggling most quietly here — attorneys, nurses, contractors, teachers, parents — were avoiding help altogether because everything on offer felt either clinical and impersonal or impossible to keep private.

East Hanover Wellness and Recovery exists to close that gap. Small cohorts. Licensed clinicians who stay with you across levels of care. Evening tracks for people with jobs they intend to keep. And a program rooted in the woods and neighborhoods you already know, so recovery happens inside your life rather than beside it.

Our mission is simple: make excellent substance use treatment feel local, adult, and genuinely humane.

What we hold ourselves to

Compassion

Nobody arrives here at their best. We meet people as adults with hard histories, never as problems to be managed.

Quality

Licensed clinicians, accredited care, small caseloads, and treatment plans reviewed with you every week.

Community

Recovery holds when people are known. Cohorts stay small and alumni stay welcome for life.

Confidentiality

Discretion is designed in — private entrances, careful messaging, and nothing ever shared with an employer.

Local roots

East Hanover, and everything around it.

We’re on Ridgedale Avenue, fifteen minutes from Morristown and Livingston, with the reservations and the distant Highlands ridges just past the neighborhoods. It’s a place where you can be in a serious clinical program at nine and on a quiet trail by three.

That proximity shapes the program. Weekend walks, seasonal hikes, park volunteer mornings, and alumni dinners keep people connected to each other and to the county itself — which turns out to matter as much as any single therapy hour.
